              (LATEST UPDATE BOTTOM OF PAGE)

Welcome to Darley Stud’s home page. I breed Australian Miniature Ponies (all registered AMPS) and all of my stock are also dual registered Shetland (APSB) and a few are registered with the Victorian Pinto Society (VPS) as well.  All of my ponies are under maximum miniature height of 87cm, measured at the highest point of the withers as per AMPS standards.

I bought my first ponies in 1991 and had my first foal born in the 1993 season (Darley Cuddlepie).  Due to now living on a small property, I have downsized the stud to under 10 ponies and will be breeding about 2 - 4 foals per year.

Most of my ponies have been shown at some time and  I offer some ponies for sale occasionally, usually during or at the end of the breeding/showing season.

The stud is now situated in Launching Place in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. Visitors are always welcome, but please call first to arrange a suitable time.

I also make and sell mohair teddy bears, so if you are interested in having a look at them please click on the link above.

Along with my bears, I enjoy oil painting and may occasionally have work for sale and am available for commissioned work, time permitting.  To visit my oil painting page to view some of my work, just click on the painting link below.

Hope you enjoy browsing my site.  If you wish to contact me, see email link above or my contact details below.

LATEST UPDATE:

25 May - Scottish Heritage Day Foal Show at Dandenong.  Lovely weather and we had a great day out.  First to get there and one of the last to leave (as usual) - too busy talking...  I took my black filly Black Diamond and she got 2nd in her shetland under 7.2hh filly class, and 1st in the black mini pony.  Also took Butterfield Magnum, who I borrowed to show at the foal shows as I didn't have a colt foal to show after my boy died.  Magnum did really well and was 1st in big mini colt class, reserve champion male mini pony, 1st in shetland colt under 7.2hh class, champion small shetland and Supreme shetland foal over the bigger champion.  Magnum also did well last weekend at the APSB Tonimbuk show, winning his mini colt class and champion mini pony.  Will upload a few pics from today on the foals page...

1 June - APSB Foal Show, Werribee Park.  I only took Butterfield Magnum in the one class, and he got 2nd out of 6 and Reserve Champion Shetland Foal 8.2hh & under.  We have purchased GLENELEN SUNRAY, skewbald dual reg colt foal by Laurelwood Jeronimo and pick him up on the 15th.

8 June - AMPS Gippsland Group Foal Show at Drouin.  Butterfield Magnum won his class (Champion colt foal born in October), and 2nd in big broken coloured foal class.  My little filly Black Diamond won her filly class (Champion filly foal born in November), 1st in black/brown foal and 1st in pair by same sire with her half sister by Devil, Yarralyn Royal Doulton.  Magnum was returned to Butterfield stud on the way home and is for sale.
