              (LATEST UPDATE BOTTOM OF PAGE)

Welcome to Darley Stud’s home page. I breed Australian Miniature Ponies (all registered AMPS) and all of my stock are also dual registered Shetland (APSB) and a few are registered with the Victorian Pinto Society (VPS) as well.  All of my ponies are under maximum miniature height of 87cm, measured at the highest point of the withers as per AMPS standards.

I bought my first ponies in 1991 and had my first foal born in the 1993 season (Darley Cuddlepie).  Due to now living on a small property, I have downsized the stud to under 10 ponies and will be breeding about 2 - 4 foals per year.

Most of my ponies have been shown at some time and  I offer some ponies for sale occasionally, usually during or at the end of the breeding/showing season.

The stud is now situated in Launching Place in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. Visitors are always welcome, but please call first to arrange a suitable time.

I also make and sell mohair teddy bears, so if you are interested in having a look at them please click on the link above.

Along with my bears, I enjoy oil painting and may occasionally have work for sale and am available for commissioned work, time permitting.  To visit my oil painting page to view some of my work, just click on the painting link below.

Hope you enjoy browsing my site.  If you wish to contact me, see email link above or my contact details below.

LATEST UPDATE:

31 May 09 - Well today we attended our 7th foal show for the season, and it was Collie's 5th.  In the interim we attended the APSB Western Group foal show at Clarendon, near Ballarat where Lyn's piebald colt Kingfisher won supreme 8.2hh & under shetland and supreme mini pony, Collie got reserve mini pony colt to him.  The next day we attended the APSB Gippsland Group foal show at Tonimbuk where Collie won his 8.2 shetty class and was champion mini pony.  Then last weekend we went to the AMPS Glengarry foal show where Collie was champion colt in one ring and reserve champ in the other ring under a different judge.  Well today was the highlight - Scottish Heritage Day at Dandenong.  Collie won his colt foal class out of 9, champion male and SUPREME mini pony.  Not only that but he also won his 7.2hh & under shetland colt class under a different judge, champion small shetland foal and SUPREME shetland foal over this huge 9hh+ colt.  Wow, that was unbelieveable...  Only one show to go now, our 8th, which is good as we're getting a bit tired going out every weekend and looking forward to a break.

11 June 09 - Foal shows are all over thankfully, we've had enough for now and need some time off.  Collie won reserve champ male at the AMPS Gippsland Group show on the weekend so managed to finish all 6 foal shows he attended with at least a champion or reserve from every outing which was pretty good and consistent.
